The Plymouth Gladiators produced a commanding performance at the Coliseum to overturn a first-leg deficit and book their place in the semi-finals of the MAXiCab Knockout Cup, eliminating the Glasgow Tigers in emphatic fashion.
Trailing by four points heading into the second leg, the Gladiators wasted no time in seizing control of the tie, wiping out the deficit within the opening two heats. From there, Plymouth never looked back, delivering a dominant team display to secure a 51-39 victory on the night and progress by eight points overall.

Reserve star Daniel Klima was the standout performer, producing a sensational seven-ride maximum of 17+3. His only dropped point came in his final outing against Kevin Juhl Pedersen, long after the result had been effectively settled. Klima’s crucial Heat 12 victory, combined with Joe Thompson in a decisive 5-1, confirmed the Gladiators’ passage to the last four.
Backing up the Czech ace, Scott Nicholls added a solid 10 points, contributing to a well-rounded team effort that proved too strong for the Tigers.

Glasgow mounted a late response through Kyle Howarth (11) and Chris Harris (10+2), who combined for two 5-1 heat advantages, but it was merely consolation as Plymouth had already put the tie beyond doubt.
After the meeting, Gladiators team manager Garry May praised his side’s professionalism and determination:
“The lads were outstanding tonight. To come in four points down and turn it around so quickly says everything about their mindset and belief. Daniel was exceptional, but it was a real team performance from top to bottom. We stayed focused, executed the plan, and got exactly what we deserved.”
Looking ahead to the semi-finals, May added:
“We’re not here just to make up the numbers, we want to go all the way. If we ride like that, we’ll be a tough team for anyone to beat.”
Daniel Klima was equally delighted with his performance and the team’s progression:
“I’m really happy today. I was enjoying myself, enjoying the track and all evening it was great. I’m happy that we won today, and we have to keep going.”
