We’re delighted to announce that filming is now underway, following the inside journey of the Plymouth Gladiators.

Beyond the Fence is an observational documentary that takes audiences inside the world of British speedway through the lens of the Plymouth Gladiators.

The film focuses on what spectators never see, the psychological pressure, emotional volatility, and behind-the-scenes dynamics that define a race meeting. It explores the sport from multiple perspectives, individual riders navigating form, risk, and identity; the collective tension within a team environment and the operational realities that underpin each event.

Set across the course of a season, the documentary captures the unpredictable nature of speedway, where outcomes shift rapidly and decisions carry immediate consequences. The narrative is driven not just by on-track action, but by the human stories unfolding off its preparation, setbacks, internal conflicts, and moments of resilience.

While rooted in Plymouth, this is not a regional promotional piece. It is a broader portrayal of speedway as a sport raw, immersive, and character led aimed at both existing fans and new audiences.
